Aruna is an accomplished health leader with more than 30 years clinical, research, teaching and operational leadership. Proud of her roots as an Occupational Therapist, she is committed to promoting and facilitating patient/ client/ family-centred approaches throughout care continuum. Aruna has broad health sector knowledge and experience both in public and private settings and is an effective communicator and relationship-builder who is committed to collaborative engagement with clients and colleagues. Aruna has a keen interest and understanding of regulatory and professional practice standards and their application in a variety of settings to ensure safe and ethical care for patients and their families.
Born in St. Alban’s England, Aruna spent her childhood in the UK, India and Canada. Aruna attended high school in Toronto, and completed her undergraduate and Masters degrees at the University of Toronto. Aruna is married with four children. She lives in Calgary with her life partner and two youngest children.
